About Dana

Discover an ally for your out-of-the-box learner.

As a renowned Educational Coach and award-winning retired classroom educator and certified trauma specialist, I’m passionate about consciously disrupting current systems and paradigms by actively ensuring accessibility and inclusivity are at the heart of learning. I offer holistic coaching for youth and families, as well as programs for organizations that serve young people of all learning styles.

Hi, I’m Dana!

I joyfully (and perhaps surprisingly) include ADHD as one of my amazing superpowers! As an educator and coach, my ability to connect with students and clients easily occurs because of my rich awareness of and around neurodiverse learning. By leading with transparency and compassion, I purposefully create opportunities for dismantling stigmas, engaging in uncomfortable conversations, and intentionally invite others to discover their own unique inner superpowers.

Holistic Brain Health is the foundation for how and what I coach, teach, and mentor, and I founded Developing Empathetic Education with Dana (DEED)® just before the pandemic to foster my passion.

Today, I’m thrilled to be leading in-person and virtual workshops for elementary through college students, parent workshops, keynote speaking engagements, and masterclasses and professional development for schools and large organizations in addition to working privately 1:1 with clients.

My Mission

I consciously disrupt current paradigms and systems by creating safe spaces for neurodivergent learners. I actively ensure that accessibility and inclusivity are at the heart of learning for all.

My Story

As a child, I understood all too well the pressures of trying to fit into a standard educational mold. I was sensitive, empathetic, justice-oriented, and had ADHD (though I was unaware). My attributes made me a unique and exciting learner who craved attention and affirmation…but was overlooked.

As an adult, I proudly bring my experiences into everything I do, and feel uniquely qualified to connect with neurodivergent & out-of-the-box learners to draw out their superpowers. I choose to use my expertise from the classroom and marry coaching, critical thinking, and thought leadership to guide and propel learners of all ages. With decades of 1:1 work with students and adults, I quickly get to the root of what’s holding people back and instantly devise a clear plan of action, guiding all towards holistic transformation academically, professionally, socially, & personally.

I am an out-of-the-box learner who needed help….

Fun Fact

Though officially diagnosed with ADHD three weeks before leaving the classroom setting in 2018, I have always known my SUPERPOWERS to be pivoting, flexibility, and supporting children, parents, and all humans who experience life from a different lens.

Superpowers Are My Passion

Neurodivergent learners are unique, which is why getting to the root of challenges and behaviors can be so difficult…and not impossible. You need support from an expert and encouragement from someone who’s passionately committed to your learning journey.

  • Imagine learners who confidently owning their power with an unwavering inner attitude of "I KNOW I can do…" on repeat.

  • Imagine deep self-awareness driving a conscious desire to foster rich, healthy connections with you and others.

Everything, and more, is possible.

Dana’s kindergarten university did not disappoint. Our kids learned how to think big and there was much love. We remember that kindergarten year fondly and with gratitude for setting the gold standard on striving for the very best."
