Let's take OFF our mask

I've been thinking . . . How often do we wear a mask? More, how often are teaching children to mask-up, too? 

⚠️WARNING⚠️  
For years, my worth was determined by YOU. Yes, your perception of me mattered to such lengths that I felt an inexplicable euphoria proving my worth . MORE,  I questioned my ENOUGHNESS daily! (*Yes, enoughness is a word I use.)


🤯 TRUTH🤯 
I allowed my worth, wholeness, and sense of self to be measured by external markers and voices. My mask was securely on. Little did I know, masking-up kept me in a state of constant chaos, providing infinite space for my thoughts to cyclone and my body to live in a state of anxiety. 


💡FACTS💡
As children, we LEARN to mask-up because our brains want four ingredients ~ to be 🙋🏽seen, 👂🏼heard, 🤟🏾loved, and ❤️valued.
**Children will do anything to receive the essential ingredients, even to their own detriment. We make meaning and connections to the responses and reactions shown by others. And, as adults, we continue living in the state of being learned as children until we discover the power of pivoting and choosing a new way!
